Call for Submission: Ilocano Literary Works
December 10, 2009 by Bilingual Pen filed under WRITING | 679 viewsGUMIL Filipinas, the premier organization of Ilocano writers, with chapters in the Ilocano-speaking provinces as well as overseas, is set to publish two literary books— anthology of selected short stories and anthology of selected poems— during its 42nd National Convention in April, 2010.
The books will be edited by award-winning Ilocano writers. Editors of the short story anthology are Juan Al. Asuncion, Bannawag Literary Editor, and Efren A. Inocencio, teacher at the Quiling Elementary School, Batac, Ilocos Norte. The poetry anthology, on the other hand, will be edited by Joel B. Manuel, principal at the Banna National High School, and Ariel S. Tabag, Bannawag Poetry Editor.
GUMIL members are encouraged to submit their short stories and poems to be included in the anthologies.
GUIDELINES:
1. For the short story anthology, works, previously published or not, may be submitted. For the poetry anthology, writers may submit as many works as they want. If previously published, publication details should be indicated as a footnote. Only one short story per author will be published while the number of poems that will be accommodated per author will be the editors’ call.
2. Submissions must be accompanied with author’s profile no longer than two paragraphs of regular length, and contact information (address, phone number, email address).

4. Submissions must be received not later than December 31, 2009.
5. Authors of submissions that will be chosen for publication will be notified one month after deadline of submission.
6. Editors reserve the right to edit accepted submissions.
