The wait is almost over.

The Philippine International Arts Festival (PIAF) officially opens February 1, 2009 via simultaneous activities in two venues: at the NCCA’s TV show, Sining Gising, and at the Concert at the Park. It will also be simultaneously launched in major sites in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Aired over NBN 4, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Sining Gising launch will be composed of performances representing the seven disciplines of art: literature, cinema, architecture, dramatic arts, visual arts, music, and dance. Many of the performances will be a fusion of two or more disciplines of art and will feature established as well as new talents.

Highlights of the Concert at the Park include street dancing and a preview of NCCA’s Sayaw Pinoy project featuring 10 established dance troupes in the country. To be attended by various sectors of the society, the Concert at the Park will likewise feature performances representing all the disciplines of art with prominent and newly discovered artists performing side by side. Live at the open air auditorium, Rizal Park, Manila (6 p.m.) with delayed telecast over NBN 4.
