Good news to all Ilokano bloggers!

Ilokanoak badges are now available for use for free by Ilokano bloggers. Created by Eli Avellanoza of http://blographics.wordpress.com, a talented Ilocano painter and graphic artist, the Ilokanoak badges are envisioned to help Ilocano bloggers proudly display their ethnicity/race in their respective blogs, even if they may be using a language other than Ilokano in their blog posts. The badges feature burnay as an Ilokano symbol, interspersed with colors/elements of the Philippine flag.

Moreover, our site — Bilingual Pen — is the proud host of the badges and the first to use an Ilokanoak badge by Avellanoza. As such, the posting code had been designed such that when blog readers click on the Ilokanoak badge, they will be redirected to Bilingual Pen — to the very page where they can choose a design and copy the appropriate code.

A talented Ilocano artist, Avellanoza was featured in Bilingual Pen on November 1, 2008 (In Focus: Outstanding Ilocano Painter-Blogger) in recognition of his outstanding talent in visual arts. An agriculture graduate of Central Luzon State University, he is a member of Samahang Makasining, a group of talented artists of different courses and backgrounds, and has exhibited his work together with other artists under the auspices of the National Commission on Culture and the Arts. A native of Nueva Ecija, he is now based in Nueva Vizcaya.
